PolyOne: Closure of compounding plant
PolyOne Corp., USA, will close a rubber compounding plant in Kingstree, S.C., later this year in a move that eliminates 145 jobs and will save the company US$ 3,5 million annually. PolyOne plans to sell the Kingstree site. Some equipment will be sold, with the remainder moved to other PolyOne facilities. Thirty-five of the site’s 145 workers were laid off earlier this year.
