Uponor: Licence for pipe technology to South Africa

Uponor, the international plastic pipe systems company with headquarters in Finland, has sold a license to DPI Plastics Ltd of South Africa to manufacture and sell pipes using Uponor’s continuous process MOPVC technology. The license enables DPI Plastics to manufacture and sell the products on the African continent. The MOPVC technology, developed by Uponor and the Australian company Vinidex, produces a much more durable product than standard PVC pipe, with higher pressure performance combined with outstanding impact resistance. DPI Plastics (Pty) Ltd is a leading South African manufacturer of pipe systems. Its products are widely used in the building, civil engineering, mining and agricultural sectors of the market throughout sub-Saharan Africa. The company operates six manufacturing facilities in this region.
