New England Extrusion: Boost of facility

By the end of the summer, New England Extrusion Inc. will expand its production facility by adding 75 per cent more space. According to marketing manager Melissa J. Gardiner, the company broke ground in May on a 45,000-square-foot addition. When completed in late August, she said, the addition will boost the facility´s size to 105,000 square feet.

Extruders are supplied with screw diameter from 30 mm to 120 mm - depending on the application and required throughput quantities - and layflat width up to 3,200 mm. The most different plastics can be processed with the blown film extrusion lines, such as PE, PP, EVOH, PA, PS, EVA and PET.

Degussa Metals Catalysts: Reflective dark pigments for PVC siding

A new line of heat-reflective dark pigments for PVC siding and other building products that require low heat build-up is available from Degussa Metals Catalysts Cerdec Corp., USA. Patent-pending Eclipse black, brown and green products are complex inorganic pigments derived from new chemistry. Eclipse black pigments are said to outperform conventional carbon black in UV protection and heat reflectivity. Good chemical resistance is also claimed.
