Formosa Plastics: Shutdown of LLDPE plant
Taiwanese polymer producer Formosa Plastics has announced plans to close an LLDPE plant with a capacity of 240,000 t/y due to poor margins caused by low selling prices. At current price levels the company said it is operating in the red. Market observers believe the move by Formosa could also influence developments on other Asian plastics markets.
