Enercon: Corona Treater for Fox Valley Technical College

Tuesday, October 8th, 2002

Fox Valley Technical College’s Steve Utschig’s is a firm believer in the value of a corona treater, “For the price and quality assurance they give you they’re a great value. Besides it only takes one or two rejected jobs or quality issues to justify the cost of a treater. Whether I had a water or solvent based press operation I’d have a corona treater on it.” To ensure FVTC students have the opportunity to work with the newest surface treating technology Enercon Industries has supplied a Universal corona treater and Compak™ 2000 power supply for the new Avanti press being installed by FVTC. The treater is capable of treating non-conductive and conductive substrates. This capability will allow FVTC to run a wide range of paper, film, foil and metallized film materials on the press. According to Enercon’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Dave Markgraf, “The addition of the Enercon treater is another example of the company’s long-standing commitment to the education of the converting industry.” Over the last ten years Enercon has supplied several treaters to FVTC, including TL Max, XL and Universal Roll treaters for Mark Andy, Comco and Carint presses. Markgraf adds, “In addition to the equipment Enercon also supports FVTC’s efforts with complimentary seminars as part of their educational program.
