Kiefel: Successful path in Asia and Australia
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2004New KIRION® generation blown film extrusion lines from KIEFEL Extrusion GmbH, one of the worlds leading blown film extrusion system suppliers, are now found not only in Australia, but also in Thailand, Vietnam, India and China. New product developments such as a blown film die for larger lay-flat widths and a new universal winder, are additionally strengthening the position of the company in the face of international competition.
The breakthrough for KIEFEL Extrusion in the Australian and Asian markets began with the new KIRION® generation of extruders. A mono extrusion line was first sold to AMCOR Australasia, Queensland, a worldwide leading packaging producer. This breakthrough in the market was built upon further with two follow-on orders for 3-layer lines, one of which with the new KIRION® W – PLUS winder technology. The breakthrough in the Australia/Asia market was further consolidated with orders from Thailand, Vietnam, India and China that were also for 3-layer lines, each with lay-flat widths of up to 2,600 mm. KIEFEL sees this as confirmation of their strategy of being a system supplier, building the machines themselves, and integrating their know how, which differs from many of their competitors. This ensures fast and efficient customer service, “a decisive edge over the competition”, as KIEFEL’s Director of Sales worldwide Kurt Freye confirms: “the best proof of this is the growth in orders in the Asian market”.
New product developments, such as the KIRION® 700/900-3 blown film die, guarantee that KIEFEL is perfectly equipped for international competition and will remain so in the future. It meets the increased demand for larger lay-flat widths, and is equipped with the C3 profile control system with segmented temperature control of the die for perfect gauge control.
The new KIRION® W – Plus surface/center/gap winder enables lay-flat widths of up to 2,600 mm and roll diameters of up to 1,600 mm, either as an independent unit, or as a component of a KIRION® extrusion line – an ideal extension to the existing range of products offered and already a success in the international market from the start.
