General Trouble Shooting Guide

 Problem Possible Cause Possible Solution
Chatter Calibrator misalignment in tank adjust calibrator
Vacuum too high (therefore to much drag in calibrator) Decrease vacuum
Surging Improper extruder melt profile Modify profile to achieve steady head pressure and motor amperage
Loss of feed Feed section temperatures too high causing premature melting Reduce feed section temperatures and increase feed throat cooling rate
High head pressure & reduced extrusion rate Screen pack plugged Change filtering elements
Bubbles/Holes Resin too wet Change resin supply to new unopened container
    Pre-drying of material
Gels/Fish eyes resin processing temperature too low Increase extruder barrel temperatures
Black Specks Carbonized resin or contaminants from previous runs Change resin supply / clean system
