Freefoam: Purchase of Permacell PVC profile range
Freefoam Plastics has bought the Permacell product range in the UK from the administrator appointed to the PVC profile extruder last month. Previous owner Synseal Holdings placed Permacell Finesse into administration after a poor performance at the subsidiary it acquired for E15m in September 2005.
Freefoam has not revealed the price it paid for the Permacell tooling and product rights. The profile products, including window trim, will be branded as Freefoam products and will be available shortly. The company said it was a significant move for Freefoam as the acquisition widens its current range of window trim products and complements its roofline range. Freefoam managing director Tony Walsh said: “We faced strong competition in acquiring this attractive range so it is extremely satisfying for Freefoam that we can offer these products to the marketplace.” The addition of Permacell products will allow Freefoam to expand its offering to PVC profile stockists, the company said.
