GRAEWE: The 3,000th Machine is a Fully Automatic Dual Coiler for Turkish Customer

German GRAEWE GmbH, a leading supplier of downstream equipment for pipes, profiles and boards, has delivered its 3,000th machine to a Turkish customer in December 2007.
It is a Fully Automatic Dual Coiler, type ADW 800 R, which is used for the coiling of drip-irrigation pipes with a max. speed of 150 m/min. The machine is equipped with the new high-speed strapping unit which is able to strap and discharge up to six times in 30 seconds. The company has delivered more than 50 coilers of this type, and has already received orders for more than 30 machines in 2008.

Conair: Preform Solution together with Husky

The Conair Group, Inc. has announced that they have entered into a joint agreement with Husky Injection Molding Systems to provide complete manufacturing solutions for the PET preform market worldwide. Husky is one of the world’s largest suppliers of injection molding equipment and services to the plastics industry. This new global agreement allows for closer integration and joint development of Husky’s injection molding systems and Conair’s plastics auxiliaries systems featuring the latest in PET resin drying technologies.
“Working with Conair is in keeping with our holistic approach to PET preform manufacturing,” said Jeffrey MacDonald, Husky’s Vice President of Beverage Packaging. “This relationship strengthens our ability to offer customers a complete, fully integrated solution where all the elements are optimized to work together.”
Husky’s PET preform systems, HyPET, offer the fastest cycle times in the industry. Conair has recently developed EnergySmart™ PET drying technology which offers optimal material conditioning, process control and energy efficiency.

Gazprom OAO: Purchase of BOPP Film Plant from Grinn Corp.

Gazprom OAO, part of the giant Gazprom gas monopoly, has purchased the bi-axially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film plant from Russian company Grinn Corporation (www.grinn-corp.ru). Grinn Corporation, a consumer and packaging group, is located in Kursk. The plant includes two BOPP lines from machinery manufacturer DMT and has a total output of 38,000 t/y. The first 6.600 meter wide line started up in February 2005 and the second line began operating in November 2005.
